Legislative Call to Action

09 Sep 2014 8:21 AM | Office Manager (Administrator)
On behalf of the surveyors in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, PSLS has worked diligently over the past two years to ensure surveyor’s interests are adequately represented with regard to geospatial issues. One example of this is the Geospatial Committee’s successful lobbying to modify proposed legislation creating the State Geospatial Coordinating Board to ensure it contains a surveyor as a voting member.

This legislation, Senate Bill 771, passed through the Senate and has passed first and second consideration in the House. It currently awaits third and final consideration in the House of Representatives. There are only a few session days left this year and should this bill not be passed we may have to repeat our efforts in the next legislative session.

We are asking you to contact your representative’s office by email or phone before September 12 asking them to:

"Please ask House leadership to allow Senate Bill 771, forming the State Geospatial Coordinating Board, to come to the floor for third consideration."

If you have a connection to or live in the 28th Legislative District of House Majority Leader Rep. Mike Turzai, it is especially important to urge him to bring SB 771 to the floor.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
