    The winners of the annual PLS Foundation Scholarships have been chosen. The Foundation awarded prizes to 6 college student and 2 high school seniors. You can find all of the details on the Foundation Scholarship page here.

    The National winners of the annual Trig-Star competition and the Trig-Star scholarship recipients have been announced in this weeks issue of NSPS News & Views.

    Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors now offers members a new way to show pride of membership. All items, from lapel pins to polo shirts, feature the PSLS logo so that members can choose how to show their support for the society.

    Shirts feature the PSLS logo prominently on the left side of the shirt. They are cotton/polyester blends to provide easy care and durability. Pictures of the items can be found on the website order form.

    In addition to logo gear, PSLS offers a variety of publications for surveyors at our bookstore.

    FEMA Survey
    PEMA has requested input from our membership to participate in a FEMA Risk Survey. Information being polled involves hazard mitigation action and planning, and will “provide FEMA and other agencies with the information necessary to better engage communities in efforts to build a safer stronger nation.”

    Flood Certificates
    This is a reminder that the old elevation certificate will no longer be accepted as of August 1. The new FEMA Elevation Certificate forms must be used after July 31 as stated on the FEMA website at

    Only one week left to take advantage of the Surveyors Historical Society’s early registration discount. Thanks to generous sponsorship, the Society is able to offer $100 off registration fees for those who register by July 15. On July 16 the registration costs go back up to $399 for each member.

    Other registration costs, room rates and other information can be found in the updated copy of the brochure. You can use it to register via mail or go to the SHS website for online registration.
