2018 Surveyors' Conference

The 2018 Surveyors’ Conference is designed to offer surveyors and others interested in surveying-related industries the tools to succeed in the profession. Structured workshops present a wide range of learning objectives, including Boundary, GNSS, stormwater, business, floodplains, and more. Vendors will be available in the exhibit hall to discuss the latest equipment, technology, and trends—be sure to stop by to speak with them during breaks!

Accommodations

Participants are responsible for their own lodging. A block of rooms has been reserved at Hershey Lodge. Rooms will be held until December 21, 2017. Click here for Hershey Lodge information

Fee Includes: Instruction; Sunday evening buffet; Monday and Tuesday evening banquets; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday breakfasts; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday lunches; and beverage breaks.

PSLS Members: $680 early (if postmarked by December 22, 2017), $740 regular | Other Prof. Assn. Members: $680 early (if postmarked by December 22, 2017), $740 regular; NSPS, AAGS, GLIS, PSPE or member of other professional society in the geospatial or related fields (contact PSLS for registration code).  | Non-members: $825 early (if postmarked by December 22, 2017), $880 regular; Student: $305; Multiple Registrations: $625 member, $770 non-member; 3 or more from same company registering prior to December 22, 2017 - Must be registered together (contact PSLS for discount code); One-day Registration: $405, includes instruction, lunch, and breaks. Breakfast and dinner are NOT included for a one-day registration. They may be purchased separately;

To register, complete our online application by December 22, 2017, for the early registration fee. Late registrations must be received by January 12, 2018.

Spouse Program: $100 per person. Event meal costs are: breakfast $25, lunch $35 and dinner $50 (per person). Meals for guests are not included with registration except where noted.


Refund Policy: Refunds of the full conference registration fee will be made for cancellations received in writing by December 29, 2017. After Dec 29, the individual or organization will be held responsible for the fee. No telephone cancellations will be accepted. Anyone who is registered but cannot attend may send a substitute.


Access: If you anticipate needing special accommodations due to a physical challenge, or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact PSLS at (717) 540-6811 before your visit.

Course/Activity Cancellation: PSLS may cancel or postpone any course or activity because of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If a program is canceled or postponed, refunds are decided on a case-by-case basis. PSLS cannot be held responsible for any related costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.

Certificates: Certificates of completion will be issued only to individuals signing each course attendance sheet. If a workshop has more than one session you MUST attend ALL SESSIONS to receive credit for the workshop. PARTIAL CREDIT WILL NOT BE GIVEN.

Continuing Education Credit

Pennsylvania: No pre-approval is available for CE credits. Delaware: PSLS is a pre-approved provider. New Jersey: Workshop outlines have been submitted to the registration board for certification. Maryland: A written summary or quiz will be required at the end of most courses for those seeking Maryland Type A credit. New York: PSLS is an approved NYSED sponsor; reviewed courses will be posted on the PSLS website.  A written summary or quiz will be required at the end of most courses for those seeking NY Credits. Other States:Individuals must apply to other states on their own. There is no guarantee that workshops will be approved.  Course credit for all states is the responsibility of the individual licensee.

Special Guest Presenter: Tony Nettleman

Tony Nettleman is a Land Surveying Engineer who holds the distinguished position of assistant professor at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, teaches continuing education courses for attorneys and land surveyors, and serves as an expert witness in boundary, easement, and title disputes. Currently, Tony serves as an assistant professor of Geomatics at Texas A&M Corpus Christi while lecturing for various profession groups and serving as an expert witness. He is licensed as a Florida attorney and a Florida professional surveyor. Tony can be contacted through www.CNettleman.net. Tony will be presenting:

  • Boundary Law (3.5 PDH)
  • Easements and Rights of Way (3.5 PDH)
  • Finding and Prioritizing Boundary Retracement Evidence (3.5 PDH)

PSLS Summer Conference - August 2016


PSLS is hosting its 2016 Summer Conference August 25 - 26, 2016 at the Pittsburgh Monroeville Convention Center, Monroeville, PA. Participants can earn up to 16 PDHs while attending this hands-on conference. 

Cost:

PSLS Member: $490 (Must log in to register)

Non-Member: $550

Registration cost includes: workshops, Thursday lunch and dinner, Friday breakfast and lunch, and morning and afternoon refreshment breaks both days. Hotel accommodations are not included in registration fees.

Lodging: PSLS has arranged a room block at the Hilton Doubletree for attendees at $119++ per night. For reservations call 1-412-373-7300 and reference PSLS.  Discount ends August 3.

Class sizes are limited. Register early to ensure availability.

2015 Summer Conference

The PSLS Summer Conference, August 27th & 28th is designed to offer educational and networking opportunities to surveyors and others interested in survey relate industries.  Workshops have been structured to provide educational opportunities which include an outdoor or hands-on aspect.  Many of the workshops have outdoor activities combined with classroom activities to give the attendee a more complete understanding of the technologies involved.

The Inaugural Summer Conference will be the first opportunity to try out the benefits of the Mobile Event App.  Handouts and event information will be available on the App in advance of the event.  No paper copies will be given!  Those who prefer paper copies can download and print only the information they need, reducing waste and raising efficiency. 

Continuing Education credits for New York and New Jersey have been applied for and will be posted online when received.  CE credits for Delaware have been pre-approved for all qualifying workshops. A written summary will be required for those seeking Maryland Type A credits. No CE credits will be given for the Exam Review workshop.
