The PSLS Northeast Chapter will hold a FEMA NFIP Presentation seminar on May 30, 2015, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus.

Location: Penn State University Wilkes-Barre Campus, Lehman, PA.  Nesbitt Academic Commons (Library), Room AC103 (Directions below)

Mail checks payable to PSLS Northeast Chapter care of William E. Heller, PLS, 304 St. John’s Road, Wapwallopen, PA 18660. Checks must be received by May 27, 2015.  Please include your full registration name and number on the check.

Your certificate will be issued at the end of the seminar for 4 hours, (4 PDH’s)

Cancellations:  Upon notification of a cancellation, fees will be applied for future seminars sponsored by the Northeast Chapter of the PSLS.

Description: National Flood Insurance Program

Topics : Elevation Certificates, Property Information required, Field Elevation Controls, Site information required, Electronic Letter of Map Amendment (eLoma), Special Flood Hazard Areas, Updates on FEMA Mapping and Applications, Links to websites for clear photo copies, FEMA contact information for specific site determination.  

Presenter: Kathryn (Katie) Lipiecki is the Senior Mitigation Planning Specialist in the Floodplain Management and Insurance Branch of FEMA Region III’s Mitigation Division.  In this role she delivers training on National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) topics, conducts Community Assistance Visits to assess local floodplain management programs, and provides technical assistance to ensure compliance with the minimum requirement of the NFIP.  Katie received a M.S. degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University in the City of New York, and a B.A. degree in both Historic Preservation and American Studies from Goucher College in Baltimore, MD.

Directions: The main entrance to the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus is at the intersection of Old Route 115 and University Drive in Lehman, PA. Unfortunately, different maps applications require different addresses to be put in for the destination. Please see below:

Please note: Dallas must be specified as the city even though the Wilkes-Barre campus is located in Lehman. Our apologies for any confusion!
