Course Description:

This seminar will highlight new data and resources available from Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access (PASDA--http://www.pasda.psu.edu). Included will be a discussion of the PA Base Map and PA GeoBoard data sharing initiative. The PA Base Map and  PA GeoBoard data sharing initiative has resulted in a significant increase in access to local government data such as parcels and street centerlines.  These have been made available via PASDA in multiple formats. In addition, the discussion will cover an update on new imagery and lidar, and an overview of the PASDA Lidar Explorer.

Presenter: Maurie Kelly

Maurie Kelly works for Penn State University as the director of Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access (PASDA--www.pasda.psu.edu) and as a research faculty member at the Institute of Energy and the Environment and associate faculty with the Institute for Computation and Data Sciences. She has been with PASDA for 23 of its 25 years and also serves on the Pennsylvania Geospatial Coordinating Board, the PA GIS Conference Committee, the Central PA GIS Day Committee, and other statewide initiatives. Maurie (and PASDA) has been a contributor to PSLS events for many years and has presented at the PSLS annual conference on multiple occasions. In her free time she volunteers at two of the animal shelters in Centre County.
