Course Description:
This seminar explains boundary retracement principles and procedures known as the Rules of Construction. The seminar will review the rules of construction as they apply to surveying practice. Priority of evidence, analysis of evidence, and reporting of a defensible opinion will be explained.
Presenter Bio:
Knud E. Hermansen is an attorney, professional engineer, and professional land surveyor. His education includes a B.S. in Civil Engineering (Penn State Univ.), M.S. in Surveying & Photogrammetry (Univ. of Wisconsin), Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Penn State Univ.) and a J.D. (West Virginia University). Knud is a retired professor at the University of Maine and operates a consulting firm offering surveying, engineering, and legal services. Professional membership includes the National Lawyers Association, National Society of Professional Surveyors, American Society of Civil Engineers, and several state survey societies and the Maine State Bar Association. He is an author or co-author of several articles and books on surveying. Note: Members of other Professional societies such as PSPE, NSPS, ACSM, or other state surveying societies may register at the discounted price.
