Course Description:
This presentation will cover the reasons for regulations, a short history of the regulations pertaining to UAS operation, transition into the current regulatory environment, critical aspects of flight planning in light of the regulations, and a short look into the future.
Presenter Bio:
Bryan Hazelwood serves as Chief Pilot/Project Manager in the Pittsburgh office of Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC). He has developed CEC’s UAS program from the ground up in 2015, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the commercial aviation industry. Bryan has accumulated hundreds of hours operating UAS aircraft for commercial data acquisition. Bryan is a licensed Manned Aircraft Commercial Pilot with more than 1,400 hours logged. He has 7 years of experience in the aviation coordination efforts at one of the largest medical helicopter operations in Pittsburgh and was influential in developing the standard operating release procedures used by the company.
In addition to performing local UAS operations in the Pittsburgh area, Bryan serves in the position of CEC’s Chief Pilot providing oversite, training, FAA compliance, safety, and support to all CEC’s 30 plus Pilots.
