Course Description:

As NGS continues to develop and prepare a new set of datums for the Nation, decisions must be made on excluding some older marks from getting published coordinates in these new datums.  Join this webinar to get a better understanding of the proposal set forth in a recent Federal Register Notice (FRN) by NGS.  Jeff will explain the FRN, why the decisions described in it are necessary for developing Reference Epoch Coordinates (RECs), and how this may impact your work.  He will describe what RECs are for those not familiar and will also cover the different options that you have to address the impact in your area by submitting new GNSS data to NGS.  Note that the deadline for those submissions is already set as 31 December 2021.  This will include briefly reviewing the GPS on Bench Marks map and the OPUS Shared solution process, plus a demonstration of OPUS Projects including its new RTK/RTN integration (with a planned release in February).
