    Professional Land Surveyor

    Fuehrer Associates, Ltd. is a full-service civil engineering, surveying, and consulting firm serving planners, contractors, businesses, developers, municipalities and individuals throughout Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and the surrounding area.  We are a small business with over 40 years of experience serving the local community.     We are seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor registered in PA. Tasks include but are not limited to preparing Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Land Development Plans, and Subdivision Plans to meet state and local requirements.  We are seeking an individual who has excellent communications skills, is self-motivated, hardworking, and flexible.

    Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)

(EARTHRES) is a full service engineering and consulting firm providing high quality services to private and public clients in the solid waste, industrial, mining, oil & gas, commercial and government market sectors. Our core services include civil, mechanical, environmental, chemical, mining, and process engineering, solid waste engineering, air quality services, investigation and remediation, geology and hydrogeology, mining and mineral processing, and regulatory compliance and permitting.  (www.earthres.com) 

    What we are seeking:
    EARTHRES is seeking a PLS in our Morgantown, WV and Central City, PA office. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of advanced surveying experience and will coordinate and perform a variety of surveying, mapping, scanning, certifying and other services. 

    Job Duties:
    • Perform site surveying, prepare reports and maps using the latest software and electronic data collection (i.e., 3D scanning, drone mapping and CAD);
    • Certify maps and reports;
    • Research property ownership deeds, easements and dedications at local County Recorder offices and online;
    • Request information from title companies, highway departments, municipalities, and apply the information to the CAD drawing;
    • Meet clients at the site to discuss plans, expectations and changes to design;
    • Verify that the data collected is what the client expects;
    • Assist with the development of Bids and Proposals; and
    • Provide other services in the field and office as needed on corrosion and construction quality assessment projects

    Job Requirements: 

    • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Civil Engineering or surveying;
    • Licensed PLS in PA and WV;
    • 5+ years of experience with land surveying is preferred;
    • Experience with GPS survey equipment operation – Leica equipment experience preferred;
    • Ability to read and understand architectural, structural and engineering plans;
    • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred and the ability to use and maintain company CAD standards and templates is required;
    • Ability to work 40+ hour work weeks;
    • Ability to travel overnight occasionally;
    • Ability to work outdoors in all weather;
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for equipment;
    • Possess critical thinking ability and attention to detail;
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to client locations;
    • Willingness to be a team player.

    SSM is actively recruiting for a Survey Crew Chief to join our growing team.  As a Survey Crew Chief, your goal will be to perform all aspects of site and boundary reconnaissance, construction stakeout, and boundary, topographic, roadway and as-built surveys, ultimately turning that field data into AutoCAD drawings.

    • Performs all types of surveys, including, but not limited to, construction staking, as-built, ALTA, topographic, boundary and subdivision surveys
    • Experience with electronic total station, robotics, data collectors and GPS equipment.
    • Ability to interpret construction plans and property deeds and maps.
    • Ability to perform horizontal and vertical survey calculations.

    • Experience with AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, or similar programs, is a plus.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ability to operate as a 1-man crew using robotic and/or GPS/GNSS for construction staking, topographic surveys and boundary surveys
    • Ability to supervise a 2-man or 3-man crew, when needed
    • Boundary and utility investigations
    • Ensures that all data is downloaded on a daily basis (if needed), reviews each day's work and records
    • Performs sufficient checks in the field and records electronically and/or in field notes
    • A willingness to both learn from others and share what you know.
    • Communicate with the client and project team to understand the goals, challenges, schedule, budget, and expectations of project
    • Ensures proper vehicle and equipment maintenance. 
    • Miscellaneous office and survey technician duties as needed.
