Rodriguez is a rapidly-growing engineering design and geospatial services consulting firm headquartered in Philadelphia. Our team of professionals specializes in Design (land development, redevelopment, site retrofits), Infrastructure (water, sewer stormwater, roadways), Geospatial (GIS, GPS, LiDAR, UAS, land surveying) services. 

We are currently seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to join and manage our Survey Department in our Philadelphia office location.

The primary duties include coordinating with project/task managers and other business units for surveying tasks, lead both the office and field staffs, oversee the development of geospatial technology, and grow the Geospatial practice at Rodriguez.

The ideal candidate for this operational leadership position will have the following key essential functions and responsibilities:

·         Evaluate surveying opportunities, primarily in Philadelphia, PA, and the Mid-Atlantic Region.

·         Support Project Managers and Chief Operating Officer (COO) with the development project cost estimates and scopes of work.

·         Develop technology strategies and solutions which keep Rodriguez on the leading edge of the applied and profitable use of geospatial technology.

·         Provide hands-on knowledge and coordinate the processes and procedures used in all Rodriguez surveying mapping operations.

·         Monitor financial status of geospatial projects and tasks (hours and dollars) and submit client invoices on a predefined basis with project controls and project managers.

·         Provide status reports to clients and management (CEO, COO, and CAO) on a predetermined basis.

·         Develop and monitor project-specific quality assurance and safety plans.

·         Maintain and grow our network of clients, teaming partners, and influencers within the surveying, geospatial, and engineering communities.

·         Actively participate in writing proposals, pricing projects, review of contract terms & conditions, and contract negotiations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful Professional Land Surveyor/Manager will have the following combination of qualifications, skills, and attributes:

·         Existing relationships with federal/state/municipal government agencies, land developer community, and engineering companies, etc.

·         Experienced in the City of Philadelphia's land development and land surveying and mapping standards.

·         Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D or related software.

·         Experience working with 3D laser scanning technology and creating 3D deliverables for site design and building renovations.

·         Interpersonal skills to organize a total team (sales, operations management, etc.) that work in unison to meet the objectives

·         Ability to effectively present information to subordinates, customers and the Rodriguez management team.

·         Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

 

Requirements

·         At least fifteen (15) years of experience in diverse surveying environments, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role over technical production and administrative controls.

·         Professional surveyor license REQUIRED in Pennsylvania and preferred in New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.
