As an Instrument Operator, you will be assigned to one of our 2-person field crews. Although you will report to our Harrisburg, PA office, you will be part of our remote field crews. These crews work remotely from their homes, which are in and around Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties. As part of our close-knit survey department, you will work under the direct supervision of one of our highly qualified and experienced Party Chiefs while performing a wide range of surveys for a diversified cliental. Some types of surveys we perform include ALTA/NSPS, boundary, control, topographic, construction stakeout, monitoring and as-built surveys. Such surveys produce the highest quality deliverables for our expanding client base which includes municipal, state, federal, private, and various utility companies. As one of our remote surveyors, your primary focus will be on oil and gas survey projects. With our Harrisburg, PA office being responsible for the eastern 2/3rds of Pennsylvania, as well as Maryland and parts of West Virginia, out of town travel will be required.

99% of your day will be spent outside in the field. A qualified applicant should be able to operate for long hours, sometimes over difficult terrain, carrying up to 50 pounds of equipment, and in varying types of weather. Our survey crews typically work 10 hours per day, four days per week. During our construction season (March – November) you may be required to work overtime and weekends. Our projects vary, as such the type of survey you are performing will vary. Typically, a project task will last for one day to one month.

As part of our Survey Department, you will be provided with immediate hands-on experience in the daily operation and adjusting of surveying equipment. We typically use Leica and Trimble Global Positioning Systems (GPS) Base/Rover setups and conventional Total Station and data collector setups.
