This is surveying and administrative work supervising, through subordinate supervisors, the activities of survey corps in an assigned street survey district. An employee in this class functions under Surveyor and Regulator in an assigned survey district as a licensed Pennsylvania surveyor and is responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day work of a moderately-sized staff of field and office personnel engaged in activities affecting plans, records, computations, lines, and grades. Conferring with contractors and residents in explaining or interpreting applicable surveying and regulating codes or costs is a significant aspect of the work.
An employee in this class participates with his or her supervisor in determining and regulating lines and grades in an assigned district and assumes district direction in the latter’s absence. Work is performed under the general supervision of a technical superior.
