Following in the footsteps of our predecessors while forging a pathway for our successors...This is particularly true with the boundary aspects of surveying, but it can be true for any project where we are recovering and/or setting control. Whenever I come across unique monumentation, I like to take photos. I’m certain most of you do the same. For this month’s newsletter, I will share a few I have encountered over the last couple of years.Â

Well, that’s enough show-and-tell; it's time to get back to work. At the Board’s 2025 penultimate meeting this month, we voted to remove the 5-year PSLS membership and 5-year PA licensure requirements to be an Officer in the Society, retaining only the requirements for residency or principal employment in PA, being a PA professional licensed surveyor (no time limit), and being a PSLS member (no time limit). This will open opportunities for our new licensees and members. Please consider helping with one (1) of our thirteen (13) committees and/or the Executive Board. The list of standing committees can be found on the PSLS website here. A listing of open 2026 positions is posted here. The deadline to submit interest is October 6 so that they slate of officers can be submitted to the PSLS Secretary by November 1, 2025. Finally, I hope to see you at the 2026 PSLS Surveyors' Conference that will be held at the Hershey Lodge from January 11-14, 2026. Registration is now open for attendees, sponsors, and exhibitors!
